Woolshed Backpackers
Hervey Bay
Unlike a lot of inner city hostels that lack a garden and pleasant surroundings, rooms at the Woolshed Backpackers spread over three different buildings, situated within a large garden, surrounded by ponds, tropical vegetation, palm trees and gum trees. The natural setting attracts a lot of wildlife - there is daily parrot feeding, possums like to drop in for a visit and Hervey Bay's famous fruit bats can be spotted every evening as they fly in their thousands over the Woolshed on their way to Fraser Island.
If you would like to meet the other guests, find new friends, have a drink and a chat, why not drop in to their common room. It resembles an Aussie Woolshed, is entirely built of wood and oozes character and atmosphere.

Clean, quiet, friendly, quality accommodation, set in tropical surroundings, right in the centre of Hervey Bay, less than five minutes walk to the beach, shops, supermarket, restaurants, pubs and bars - Aussie Woolshed Backpackers like to do their best to make all their guests feel very welcome and at home, and offer a wide variety of rooms to suit all budgets, expectations and tastes.
Aussie Woolshed Backpackers has also been recommended by Let's Go, Rough Guides, Loose Travel Book and are one of the few Hervey Bay hostels that have been recommended in the new edition of the Lonely Planet 2006. Independent Travel Guides describe the Woolshed as "the Best Hostel in Hervey Bay for it's exceptional quality accommodation" (BUG Backpackers Guide) and "an exquisite range of nicely decorated rooms - one of Australia's 50 most memorable Hostels." Courtesy pick up/drop off from the bus stop is available within office hours by arrangement. If you are arriving outside of the office hours, prior arrangements need to be organised.
