Turtle Hatchling Season
Queensland is the perfect destination to experience and witness the wonder of nesting turtles and the emerging turtle hatchlings. From mid November to February, female turtles crawl onto the sandy Queensland shores to nest and lay their eggs. Then 2 months later you can witness the little brown shapes of baby turtles hatching and making their way down to the ocean for their very first swim.

For spectators, a turtle tour is the perfect opportunity to marvel at the life of a turtle and witness the struggles they face. But you’ll have to wait till after dark to experience this wonder of nature as sea turtles can be very timid.
Turtle Watching Destinations
Although turtles are very shy creatures, in the right environment, a turtle’s gracefulness, playfulness and obvious curiosity is revealed. With their large shell, four strong, paddle-like flippers and lungs for breathing air, this reptile is a much sought after sight and can provide a whole night of turtle watching memories. Bundaberg region and many islands of the Great Barrier Reef and are common turtle-viewing destinations.
