The Sunshine Coast Art Prize is a national contemporary painting and 2D art award. It is an initiative of Caloundra City Council. The award is open to all Australian artists working in any 2D medium. The 39 finalists and winning piece will be on display for public viewing.
All works in the exhibition will be for sale, with the winning work becoming part of the Caloundra City collection. Viewers of the exhibition can vote for the people's choice award.
Special attractions run for the duration of the exhibition.
The higher the standard of entries in any competition, the more difficult it is to find a winner. There were many outstanding works in the 2007 Sunshine Coast Art Prize, and there are sure to be the same calibre of work in this years Art Prize.
