If you're looking for a great place to stay right in the heart of Cairns city, then look no further. Shenannigans is the only pub-style backpackers in Cairns. They are a little different, they are not backpackers with a bar, and they are a pub with three bars and backpackers.
The pub downstairs consists of three bar areas, bistro, gaming room (pokies), pool table room and huge television screens everywhere, to watch your favourite sports, huge tropical beer garden where you can chill out with friends and then they rev it up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, when live bands play.
Upstairs is the backpackers, with all the modern conveniences, including dormitories, doubles and twins (all rooms have air-conditioning and own refrigerator), communal showers, kitchen, television room with huge screen, guest laundry and huge balcony.
Next door to the Pub has the ensuite rooms, (separate buildings); four bed dormitories, doubles, twins and triple rooms are available all with private bathrooms, colour television, bar refrigerator and air-conditioning. They also have a tour desk at reception and an Internet cafe.

Catch a Taxi from the Airport, should only take maximum of 10 minutes and should cost between AUD10.00 to AUD15.00. Or catch the Airport Bus which will cost AUD10.00, will take you to their door, and shouldn't take longer than half an hour.
