The Toyota National Country Music Muster, held over six magical days and unforgettable nights near Gympie Queensland, kicks off on Tuesday August 26, 2008 for a full-on week.

The phenomenal growth of this traditionally country music festival has enabled the entertainment to diversify into an exciting mix of musical genres while still maintaining its country focus. As well as traditional and modern country, entertainment within 14 venues includes blues, folk, bluegrass, gospel, bush poetry, balladeers, theatre, dance and the Talent Search.

On a stroll through forest paths between venues, you will see amazing street theatre, roving bands and markets galore. Add to this wine tastings, wacky campsite competitions, soundscapes and kids playscapes - you'll see why the Toyota Muster is one of Australia's most spectacular events!

Highlights for this year's program are being released as artists are confirmed. To date, Australian of the Year Lee Kernaghan heads a list of country artists which, so far, includes John Williamson, Sara Storer, Adam Brand, the McClymonts and the Sunny Cowgirls. Also appearing are Muster favourites 'working class man' Jimmy Barnes and the Wolverines. Kasey Chambers will appear with husband Shane Nicholson and father Bill Chambers, and Pete Murray has recently come on board - they're getting set for a big year!
