Now in its seventh year, the Reef Festival is a vibrant and colourful celebration of the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsundays. The festival aims to highlight the unique Whitsunday lifestyle, and is not only an opportunity to showcase the region but is also a celebration of the local community.
The four-day event will include the Reef Fire Beach Party and fireworks, street parade, Rockin' the Reef concert with headline act Evermore, and Frocktails fashion parade. Those attending will also have the opportunity to brush shoulders with Curio and Nitro from The Shak, with the duo jumping on board as this year's festival ambassadors.
Coinciding with the International Year of the Reef, the event will also be an opportunity to raise awareness about the value and importance of protecting this valuable asset so that it can be enjoyed by future generations.
