The Whitsunday Game Fish Tournament is an eight kilogram light tackle tournament, sanctioned be Queensland Game Fishing Association. It is a team and individual event with many prizes and trophies up for grabs. It is a tag and release tournament of Billfish with a limit of other game fish species being allowed to be weighed in per team per day, but must equal or exceed line class.
The tournament is becoming more popular every year. 2007 saw over 42 boats and 140 anglers to register for the event. Numbers of participants in the event has grown dramatically over the last few years and aims to be the biggest Game Fish tournament on the coast between Gold Coast and Lizard Island.
